The City of Plains honors the life and legacy of our beloved Former United States President, Nobel Prize recipient, hometown champion, neighbor and friend Jimmy Carter. We invite our citizens and the public to honor his legacy. Detailed information on funeral ceremonies is available at the "Official Jimmy Carter Tribute Site." We honor the United States Proclamation for a 30-day commemoration and January 9, 2025 National Day of Mourning.
